Grant Programs/Initiatives

We regularly work  with several grant programs that contribute funding to help landowners manage their properties for biodiversity and conservation purposes. We are familiar with these programs and the agency staff who administer them. We can guide you through the steps of the application process, and can provide documentation that will strengthen your application. These programs include:

• The Environmental Quality Incentives Program through the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. This link is for Massachusetts, but the program is offered in all New England states for private landowners and non-profit organizations that own land such as land trusts. We typically work on invasive plant management, early-successional habitat, pollinator meadow and riparian planting projects that are offered through this great program.

• The MassWildlife Habitat Management Grant Program through the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife;

• The Partners for Wildlife Program through the US Fish and Wildlife Service;

• The Community Preservation Act (Massachusetts);

• National Fish & Wildlife Foundation Grants;

• Cooperative Weed Management Areas (this link will take you to a national map where you can locate a CWMA in your area. Many CWMA's have further information and resources that may help you find your project)

In addition, numerous other federal, state and private foundation grant programs that support projects which have ecological goals and objectives offer cost-shares and/or grants.
